Okay folks this is an end of the month progress report, this report is concerning the blog and the group I have previously mentioned in a short post talking about future developments of such a group. But first thing is first The Blog!
I have been away for a while now because I have been busy reading and self-educating plus the time spent trying to get something together is taking some time away from here as well. I have been reading two books which I have been meaning to get to: The Essential Federalist and Anti Federalist Papers as well as Radicals for Capitalism. Both books are long and I am trying my best to maximize pages read while making sure I understand what I am reading. Radicals for Capitalism is a large book with small texts as well and it talks about the history of The Libertarian Movement since the Mid-1800′s to present day and that book is an important read because if one understands the history of ones beliefs than one is in a better position to speak as well. The blog has a slightly expanded link base, in the friends section and economy section too. There is much work to be done as well, in order to realize certain goals I have set for myself this year, such as getting these books written out, but I will be writing on this from time to time for a bit to keep you up to date.
The Group is coming along and currently has a Facebook page and we are planning a larger meet-up toward the end of February, we are anticipating at least 5 people who have various connections to other people to want to make this group work and effect change in our community. At the moment this group is by invite only, it is a close connection of people working here and we need to know one another in order to make this work. At the moment as well, the work is to spread campaign for liberty message in the context of local issues, this is how I believe one can have relevance to the local residence and small businesses as well. If we can reach out to an interested group of college students and find them around Nassau County or Long Island in General we could also have a potential YAL Chapter(s) formed too!
